Description

The Choice, Inc is seeking a Payroll Data Assistant for a temporary contract to support the 119th Congressional Transition at the US House of Representatives. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the House, providing critical data entry and logistical support during this transition period.

This role is fully in person at the US Capitol and the duration of the role is from September 16, 2024, through March 14, 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Review all paperwork received in the Operations section.
  • Process monthly student loan paperwork to be entered into the Lawson Payroll system.
  • Update name, address, and W4 tax changes in Lawson.
  • Set up new health insurance and life insurance deductions for staff.
  • Process various personnel actions (New Hire, Terminations, Salary Adjustments, etc.) into Lawson.
  • Collaborate closely with the payroll counseling staff to resolve paperwork issues.
  • Research and resolve payroll issues post-processing.
  • Sort and file high-volume paperwork received in the Office of Payroll and Benefits.
  • Handle a high volume of calls and documentation influx.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; College Degree preferred.
  • Minimum one year’s experience in a payroll processing environment; Lawson Payroll System experience preferred.
  • At least two years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent data entry accuracy and experience in a high-volume, customer service environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, confidential team environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Salary: $26/hr
