The Finance Assistant will support the Finance Manager in managing the financial activities of the organization. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing reports, assisting with budget preparation, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable and general ledger entries.
o Process invoices, expense reports, and reimbursements in a timely manner.
o Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly.
Reporting and Analysis:
o Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
o Support the Finance Manager in analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
o Prepare financial statements and reports for grant applications and donor reporting.
Compliance and Audit:
o Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and organizational policies.
o Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
o Maintain organized records to support audit processes.
Administrative Support:
o Provide administrative support to the finance department, including filing, data entry, and correspondence.
o Coordinate with other departments to gather financial information and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
