Little Bottoms Free Store is seeking a part-time Assistant Program Manager (20-25 hrs/week) to support our mission to foster a safe, nurturing environment while providing essential baby supplies to disadvantaged Franklin County Ohio families with children aged 3 and under. The Assistant Program Manager is a key member of our team, supporting the Executive Director in implementing programming that aligns with our organizational mission, vision, and goals. This part-time position will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the free store and additional programming events and service hours. This position reports to the Executive Director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates the scheduling, receiving, and sorting of all donations and the preparation and oversight of the free store for service hours on Thursday evenings in collaboration with volunteers and other staff.
  • Oversees and manages daily store operations and other program and service hours.
  • Communicates with families served by Little Bottoms to support access to our services and coordinate connection to other needed community resources.
  • Supports strong working relationships with members, partners, churches, and volunteer agencies.
  • Supports community outreach activities and provides tours of programming as needed.
  • Treats all members and guests with courtesy, kindness, and respect, communicating clearly about the availability and limitations of our services and resources.
  • Oversees scheduling of volunteers to coordinate daily activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies, 
  • Maintains adequate program supplies, ordering supplies as needed. 
  • Measures and reports on program performance. 
  • Maintains accurate and timely member and donor records.
  • Maintains a neat, orderly, and organized system for sorting, storage, and re-stocking donations.
  • Supports volunteer recruitment and training efforts.
  • Maintains safety, cleanliness, and security of the building and follows opening/closing procedures.
  • Works collaboratively with Little Bottoms staff, volunteers, partners, and supporters.
  • Contributes to the total effectiveness of Little Bottoms, communicating openly, solving problems proactively, offering creative ideas, and working as a positive, engaged team member.
  • Attends required trainings and meetings. Performs related tasks as required.
  • Availability for work hours on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings (9-12:30 PM) and Thursday evenings (5 PM-8:30 PM). Must also have flexibility to work weekend and evening hours on an as-needed basis. Additional hours can be fulfilled on a flexible schedule. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of experience working with diverse populations, underserved communities, and/or immigrant populations including non-English speakers.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong moral character, integrity, and emotional intelligence.
  • Commitment to uphold and adhere to Little Bottoms Free Store’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively without direct supervision.
  • Proficiency with computers and office equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination series, Annual Flu Vaccination, and background check required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate or degree in social work, community health, community development, or related.
  • Fluency in Spanish or other languages
  • Prior experience in non-profit program support, overseeing volunteers, and/or program outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of social determinants of health and their impact on infant mortality.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to climb at least 3 flights of stairs multiple times daily. 
  • Must be able to repeatedly lift, sort, and arrange boxes and bags weighing 25-30 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 5 hours

COMPENSATION

Compensation for this position is $17-$22/hr, commensurate with experience.
