Under the supervision of a Supervising Transportation Engineer and the direction of the Railroad-Highway Crossing Program (RCHP) Coordinator, a Senior Transportation Planner, the Associate Transportation Planner (ATP) manages projects in the RHCP, [aka Section 130], within the Office of Federal Programs. This program is jointly administered by the Division of Local Assistance (DLA) and the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and provides project funding to cities, counties, and railroads throughout the state. The incumbent will provide project management of multiple contracts, support program management of the RHCP and the efficient administration of the program with an emphasis on improving project delivery and providing safety benefits for California's transportation network. This position works closely with local agencies, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), CPUC, various district and divisione within Caltrans and private and public railroad companies.
