About THCDI:

The Tanzania Health and Community Development Initiative (THCDI) is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to addressing critical health and social challenges across Tanzania. We work tirelessly to improve the quality of life for underprivileged communities through various health, education, and community development projects.

Our Mission:

To empower Tanzanian communities by providing accessible healthcare, educational support, and sustainable development initiatives. We aim to bridge the socio-economic gap and enhance the well-being of individuals and communities.

Our Vision:

A healthy, educated, and self-sufficient Tanzanian society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

Our Impact:

  • Healthcare: Distributed over 5,000 pairs of eyeglasses to adults and students, provided medication for 20 students with serious eye conditions, and conducted eye medical outreach, benefiting over two million individuals since 2021.
  • Education: Donated clothes to 3,000 children for school uniforms and supplied 1,200 menstrual cups to girl students in 50 secondary schools in Tanzania.
  • Sustainable Development: Partnered with a Danish NGO to supply hospital health equipment to 50 hospitals in Tanzania and facilitated the restoration of malfunctioning machines by bringing in 30 engineers.
  • Gender Equality: Introduced Korfball, a gender-equality sport, to promote gender-positive changes, organizing tournaments in 20 secondary schools and 50 awareness events.

We Need Your Support:

THCDI is seeking partnerships with organizations or individuals in the USA, Canada, or the UK to help us expand our reach and impact. Your support will enable us to:

  • Enhance Healthcare Services: Provide more medical equipment, conduct health outreaches, and improve healthcare accessibility.
  • Promote Education: Supply educational materials, support school infrastructure, and run educational programs.
  • Foster Sustainable Development: Implement community development projects that promote self-sufficiency and economic growth.
  • Advance Gender Equality: Expand our gender equality initiatives and create more awareness and participation programs.
