Position Overview

We are looking for the ideal candidate with experience utilizing nonprofit “dual entry” accounting

practices, performing accrual transactions, and managing grant expenditures and allocations as used by a US-based nonprofit organization.  This position is remote and can be performed from either the US, India, or Mexico. The person in this position will report to the Global Director of

Finance and aid with the oversight of the organization’s financial transactions and operations. This position will primarily be responsible for the monthly processing, recording, and reconciliation of transactions across each of our global offices (United States, Guatemala, India, and Mexico.)  Ensure invoices are properly collected, amounts are correct and allocated to the proper fund, and guarantee payments are handled and recorded accurately. Manage internal and external payment requests and provide general finance and accounting support for the international program team. Support one (1) to two (2) global offices and will backstop for other Finance & Operations Team members based in the United States as needed.

Principal Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Process invoices requests and manage payments using Bill.com.
  • Manage monthly Credit Card Reconciliations from Chase MasterCard and AMEX.
  • Upload Monthly Transactions for all 3 locations into the MIP Fund Accounting Software (MIP).
  • Create monthly reports in MIP to check your work.
  • Reconcile Operating, Receiving, International, and Payroll Bank Accounts.

Accounts Receivable

  • Reconcile fundraising income with bank statements.
  • Reconcile GAAP Approved Pledge Payments.

Grant Management

  • Update grant monitoring spreadsheets.
  • File grant-related expense invoices in the corresponding online folder.
  • Other grant management tasks as they may arise.

Financial Management & Audit Support

  • Ensuring that the global staff follow and abide by the organization’s set financial procedures and practices.
  • Support federal audits and data collection with accurate documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
