Hiring: Part-time Bookkeeper Position

ALK Positive, Inc., a 501 c (3) patient-driven organization dedicated to improving the quality and longevity of life of those living with ALK-positive cancers worldwide, is looking for a part-time bookkeeping position to add to the team.

Support our finance team in preparation of monthly financial statements and work papers. Work directly with our accountant with the accounts payable function, entering vendor payments utilizing our bill.com account, and assisting in reconciling donations from multiple income streams (or sources), among other various accounting related tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the accountant to prepare monthly financial statements and work papers.

• Conduct thorough reconciliation to find sources of variances.

• Create donation income and receivables reports from our donation platform, reconciling to bank accounts.

• Provide administrative support to our staff and finance committee members.

• Code and input invoices into QuickBooks, aiding the Treasurer in processing vendor payments.

• Contribute to our annual audit and Form 990 preparation, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

• Facilitate the tracking of grants under the guidance of our accountant.

• Partner with the accountant and Treasurer in developing the annual budget, playing a pivotal role in financial planning and strategy.

• Code bank and credit card statements.

• Other responsibilities deemed appropriate

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of full charge bookkeeping experience

• Nonprofit account experience

• QuickBooks Online experience

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Organization and time management skills

• Ability to solve complex problems through critical thinking

• Have a fluent understanding of financial statement analysis

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with Bill.com is preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and QuickBooks Online

• Strong organizational and analytical skills Detail oriented

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
