ABOUT: Polyvagal Institute (PVI) is a non-profit organization founded in 2020 by Stephen Porges, Ph.D., Deb Dana, Karen Onderko, and Randall Redfield. PVI is dedicated to creating a new paradigm for health and wellness by providing training, supporting community, and sharing research centered around a revolutionary understanding of the body and mind, as presented in the work of Stephen Porges. Since its inception, PVI has become the single most credible source of information on Polyvagal Theory.
PURPOSE AND ROLE: The successful applicant for this position will possess strong communication skills that embody PVI’s core values of safety and connection, a collaborative nature able to work in a team environment, and a core passion and appreciation for the mission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications, support the implementation of an effective marketing and communications plan and workflow for internal and external organizational needs, including:
Content Development: Assist in creating content (idea generation, graphics and/or copywriting) for PVI’s website, social media channels, and other communication outlets.
Newsletter Development: Collaborate closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to support newsletter and email marketing production by contributing to copywriting, design, and distribution through Mailchimp. Assist with other special projects as needed. Expertise in email marketing systems is a plus.
Online Audience Engagement: Increase PVI’s visibility by engaging with followers and other accounts on social media across all platforms, including our Community App. Monitor direct messages and comments for special circumstances or concerns that need to be addressed or may require a special response.
External Communication: Provide backup support in external communications across the team as needed, ensuring messaging and voice are consistent with PVI’s mission and values.
