The Talent Acquisition Specialist will represent the ABA ProBAR at conferences, professional associations, recruiting events, career expositions, colleges, and universities, etc., with a focus on expanding the talent pipeline and highlighting the benefits of working for the ABA. Collaborates with hiring managers to identify preferred qualifications in potential candidates and potential sources of internal and external candidates.

Job Summary

Accountable for the full life cycle of sourcing and recruiting talent for ABA ProBAR vacancies. Represent the ABA ProBAR at conferences, professional associations, recruiting events, career expositions, colleges, universities, etc., focusing on expanding the talent pipeline and highlighting the benefits of working for the ABA. Collaborates with hiring managers to identify preferred qualifications in potential candidates and potential sources of internal and external candidates.


Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)

  • Develops comprehensive recruitment strategies, focusing on legal recruitment, utilizing a broad array of resources and operational/institutional knowledge to identify the most qualified candidates for current and forecasted vacancies. Responsible for reviewing and improving recruitment strategies in collaboration with other departments to attract and enhance the recruitment of talented individuals.
  • Collaborates with hiring managers to identify preferred qualifications in candidates and potential sources of internal and external candidates. Tracks the current talent market and identifies any potential skills scarcities in the relevant market for hiring managers.
  • Develops new and fosters existing professional relationships to identify prospective candidates and maintain an active talent pool from which viable prospects may be sourced for existing and future positions.
  • Screens and provides initial information to applicants to match candidates with ABA ProBAR job opportunities and refer qualified candidates to apply for applicable positions.
  • Coordinates Internship and Fellowship programs for ProBAR. Communicate with ABA and ProBAR departments, including Engagement and Development, to ensure internship agreements and fellowship contracts are successfully implemented. Screens applicants for internship and fellowship programs to assist in the selection process. Coordinates with applicants, fellowship programs, and ABA entities to secure fellowship opportunities. Ensures compliance with onboarding and offboarding. Provides up-to-date recruiting information when attending conferences and recruiting events.
  • Maintains all required ABA and governmental compliance records [e.g., applicant flow, diversity outreach initiatives, etc.] for all acquisition assignments and ensures the hiring manager conducts appropriate and unbiased interviews.
  • Responsible for creating and implementing an effective communications plan that provides the value proposition of ABA ProBAR's job opportunities. In coordination with relevant internal stakeholders, responsible for reviewing and maintaining recruitment content on all job postings and promotional material.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

 

Required Education, Qualifications, Experience

  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in human resources management or a related business or social science field or the equivalence of five years of professional recruiting experience.
  • Have two to five years of professional recruiting experience, including the following full recruiting life cycle responsibilities: sourcing, screening, providing information, effectively communicating with hiring managers and applicants, and following appropriate compliance in a domestically and/or internationally focused recruiting environment.
  • Previous experience monitoring and fulfilling sourcing and recruiting expectations under all federal, state, municipal, and in the case of non-U.S. locations, country requirements.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, OneDrive, Teams).
  • Must be familiar with conducting virtual meetings, training, and observations on software such as Zoom, Teams, etc.

 

Preferred Education, Qualifications, Experience

  • Previous experience working at a non-profit organization or recruiting for non-profit organizations.
  • Prior experience in the recruitment of attorneys.
  • Prior experience in the recruitment for positions in the immigration field.
  • Written and spoken fluency in a secondary language based on the location and client base served.

 

Physical Requirements 

Typical office setting with frequent visits at immigration detention facilities and immigration court. Continuously operates a computer and other office machinery, such as telephone, copy machine, and computer printer.

Travel

As a normal course of business, this job will typically require travel of less than 35% of the time.
