Seeking an Administrator to provide administrative support to the Bishop Suffragan of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut, known as the Episcopal Church in Connecticut (ECCT). This position also serves as the Events Facilitator for the Diocese, responsible for planning Diocesan events and special projects. While familiarity with the Episcopal Church is preferred, this position does not require Episcopal Church membership.
The successful candidate will be adept at organization and systems management, with the ability to multi-task and efficiently manage time and prioritize projects. A key responsibility of this position is to manage the Bishop’s complex calendar, and the successful candidate must be able to manage calendars, organize and maintain detailed records, communicate effectively with parish leaders, complete necessary documentation, update databases and website information, and meet deadlines. They must take initiative and work independently and learn new systems and procedures quickly, and be proficient in navigating the Internet and other resources to find information. The successful candidate must be able to organize and facilitate events and meetings. They need to remain composed under pressure and maintain confidences. The ideal candidate will be personable and outgoing, with the ability to connect with others, appreciate diversity and work with others of different backgrounds and beliefs, and be a team player. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred, but an Associate’s degree with three or more years of relevant work experience will be considered. At least three years of experience working as an administrative assistant or a similar office position is required. Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel; familiarity with EventBrite or other scheduling programs a plus. Must have excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to organize and maintain a complex calendar and detailed records, complete necessary documentation, and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communications, including the ability to proofread own and others’ written work thoroughly and accurately.
