Description

The Price Center, a human service agency which empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to thrive in work, living, and social settings, is hiring an Employer Outreach and Partnerships Specialist. We’re looking for candidates who enjoy building and maintaining relationships in the community and are excited to help the individuals we serve -- by matching them with employment opportunities in the local community. 

The Price Center is a dynamic and supportive community that empowers adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through our community day programs, community living programs, employment services programs, and more. We provide a nurturing environment where our participants can thrive and achieve their fullest potential. Our Employment Services team believes that a job can be very rewarding and fulfilling for our individuals. An impressive 95% of those employed through The Price Center are still in their jobs one year later, and some move on to higher-paying jobs.  

More about the position: 

As the Employer Outreach and Partnerships Coordinator, you will be a part of our employment services team and take the lead on building relationships and with potential employers, maintaining and strengthening those relationships, and working with individuals in the program to help match them with these opportunities and coach them through the interview and onboarding process. This is an ideal job for a candidate who has a background in relationship building and outreach of any kind, such as community outreach, community partnerships, employer relations, or even fundraising or sales. In addition to building relationships and securing partnerships with employers, you will work closely with individuals in our program to help them interview for the position, travel to interviews, secure a job, and be a part of their ongoing success. 

Specifically, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Building and maintaining relationships by reaching out to and develop and nurture partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and employer networks;  
  • Promoting disability awareness in the local area and advocating for employment opportunities;  
  • Attending community events to promote the Price Center’s mission, network with potential employers and community leaders to expand our network of job opportunities; 
  • Managing job development and placement for individuals in our program who are eager to be employed by: 
  • Developing relationships with participants 
  • Identifying suitable job opportunities for the individual based on their skills and interests 
  • Supporting their employment goals by:  
  • Helping individuals with job readiness, including resume building, interview preparation, and on-the-job training  
  • Ensure individuals’ success and satisfaction in their job placements 

What we’re looking for in you: 

  • You have a minimum of one year of work experience, including some experience in community outreach, partnerships, community organizing, employment outreach, job development, fundraising, or sales;  
  • You are an effective communicator. You enjoy being in the community spending time talking with contacts on the phone, in-person, or at events; 
  • You are motivated by The Price Center’s mission and excited to work with, support, and empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities; 
  • You have experience with and a commitment to working with people from a variety of backgrounds, including different racial, ethnic, religious, cultural backgrounds, as well the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodivergent individuals, and more;  
  • You are creative, solution-oriented, and driven to meet goals; 
  • You have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a willingness to use personal vehicle for work-related travel. 

Preferred experience (but not required): 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field 
  • CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention Training  
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities   
  • Experience in job development 

Details: This is a full-time position based in our Newton, MA location and involves regular travel to meetings and events in the community. You will report to our Senior Program Manager.
