Description

Position Overview - The O.R. is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable Accounts Payable Specialist to join its team and support an ever-growing roster of clients. The Specialist will be responsible for a high volume of payable transactions for the O.R.’s clients. The Accounts Payable Specialist must have strong communication skills as they will coordinate with clients and occasionally vendors.   


The Accounts Payable Specialist should have bill processing experience and be comfortable reading a chart of accounts. Additionally, they can expect to review and fact-check accounting data, troubleshoot sync issues, and escalate issues as appropriate. Policy oversight and enforcement will be important to the candidate’s success. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be a valued partner to other members of the team and can expect opportunities to assist in other areas of interest and aligned skillset.

 

Key Job Roles - The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for:           

  • Ensuring that all payables are reviewed, coded, approved, and processed in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing documentation for compliance with disbursement policies.
  • Maintaining client vendor files.
  • Supporting corporate card accounting and reconciliation.
  • Responding professionally to client and internal requests to resolve issues and discrepancies.
  • Synching Bill.com with QuickBooks files.
  • Coordinating review of Accounts Payable aging reports with teammates.

 

Skills & Abilities - To be successful in this role, the Accounts Payable Specialist will have:

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational skills an ability to support multiple clients.
  • The ability to enter data quickly and accurately.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred experience with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Sage Intacct, or other similar accounting systems.
  • Preferred experience with Bill.com and Spend & Expense/Divvy.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or sufficient experience in accounting or Accounts Payable.
