Description

The Job.

We are looking for an assistant investigator to play an integral role in the development and work up of our cases. This includes gathering and reviewing documentation; assisting with the scope, timing, and direction of the investigation; interviewing defense and expert witnesses; evaluating witnesses; and assisting attorneys and investigators at hearings and trials. Candidates must be highly motivated, detail oriented, and deadline driven. Overnight travel in and out of state is required. Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable. Commitment to indigent defense is required.

You must:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree
  • Residency requirements can be found here

  • Be comfortable working with a diverse set of clients and their families
  • Have a valid driver’s license

You should:

  • Demonstrate cultural competency and have experience or interest in working with marginalized communities
  • Have strong writing skills
  • Be tech savvy with working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Case Map, Trial Director, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Testify in court if necessary
  • Be familiar with the federal criminal justice system
