Program Manager, Young Adult Family Fund
Starting salary range: $80,000 - $87,980/annually, $3,076.92-$3,383.85 per pay period
Full-Time, Exempt
This is a hybrid role. The person in this position will have the flexibility to work two (2) days remotely. Mandatory in-office workdays are Tuesdays & Wednesdays.

Job Summary: This position will manage the administration of the Young Adult Family Fund. Key responsibilities include project management, budget management, grants management, research and community relations.

Major Responsibilities:
- Grants Management: Manage administration of the fund’s grantmaking portfolio for existing and prospective grantee organizations including:
- Facilitating the discovery and due diligence process of prospective grantees for program staff and donor family
- Managing grant award including coordinating with program staff, donor family, grants management and other CCF teams to ensure terms are reflective of collective expectations
- Monitoring grant lifecycle including the production of grant agreements, progress reports, payment requests, and other related correspondence and meetings with grantees
- Tracking the budget of the initiative including grant payments, totals awarded to date and other relevant items related to grant funds
- Working closely with program staff, donor family, grants management, donor relations and other CCF teams to apply and improve existing processes and practices
- Creating drafts of grantmaking materials including meeting agendas, due diligence criteria, applications, reporting template, etc.
- Providing data analysis, monitoring and evaluation of grants portfolio as needed
- Program Administration: Manage the administration of the fund including: Scheduling calls, in-person meetings, and site visits with the fund’s relationships, relevant CCF staff, grantees, prospective grantees, and other relevant stakeholders
- Meeting management including agenda setting, notetaking, circulation, and follow-up of stakeholder meetings and convenings
- Maintaining internal project management infrastructure including SharePoint files and other internal CCF systems
- Routine clerical tasks as required
- Relationship Management & Community Engagement: Provide responsive client service for the fund and manage the relationship engagement timeline of the initiative and program team including: Providing best in class client services for the donor family, grantee partners and other stakeholders
- Ensuring the team is continuously cultivating relationships with grantees, funder partners, community-based organizations, funder tables, and other stakeholders
- Identifying needs for technical assistance for grantees and other partners
- Providing support in sitting at stakeholder meetings, convenings, site visits, webinars, etc. as discussed with colleagues
- Research: Conducting research and analysis on potential and current grantees, landscape of providers, relevant policies, networks, evidence base of program models, etc. as requested by colleagues and the initiative’s relationships including:Attending various workshops and trainings relevant to the work of the initiative and report back to the broader team on insights.
- Conducting research as part of the discovery, due diligence, monitoring and evaluation parts of the grantmaking lifecycle with prospective and current grantee relationships.

Qualifications:

- Experience: Minimum of four years of experience working on mission-driven programs; preference for experience in a relevant field (housing, homeless services, youth development, economic opportunity and/or mental health). Program management, client management, grantmaking experience and complex project management to achieve results are preferred. Previous experience with developing and working with program budgets and understanding of nonprofit financial models is preferred. Lived experience in one or more of the fields of interest is highly preferred.
- Community and Field of Interest Knowledge: Knowledge of the Los Angeles County nonprofit community, familiarity with diverse neighborhoods throughout the region, and experience in working effectively with diverse and broad-based community constituencies is essential. Working knowledge of best practices in fields of interest to the foundation, familiarity with nonprofit financials, public and private funding streams related to the foundation’s domains of work, and a working understanding of outcome measures and evaluation methodologies aimed at assessing program effectiveness is preferred.
- Convening and Facilitation Skills: Able to facilitate meetings and group processes for the purposes of fact-finding, decision-making, peer learning and problem solving. Strong meeting management skills are necessary.
- Communication and Analytical Skills: Solid analytical skills, excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and excellent client service skills required. Ability to prepare and give presentations, collaborate and comfortably interact with diverse audiences including donors, nonprofit, government officials and community groups is required. Ability to gather, analyze, and visualize quantitative and qualitative data is required.
- Technology Skills: Internet competency and strong computer proficiency, including mastery of the Microsoft Office software suite and a familiarity with database software, is required. A willingness and ability to learn appropriate database, spreadsheet and other computer programs.
- Project Management Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize work effectively and adjust to multiple demands with consistent attention to timelines.
- Teamwork & General Skills: Ability to work well independently and as a team member. Ability to take initiative and follow tasks through to completion.
Working Conditions:
- Requires the ability to sit and work at a desk for several hours at a time.
- Requires the ability to travel and attend meetings, presentations and events outside the office, which may require occasional use of a motor vehicle for transportation to other locations. Due to the nature of external appointments and/or responsibilities requiring travel to locations not easily accessible by public transportation, driving is an essential job responsibility for this position.
- This position is required to be available to speak with clients and/or others while away from the office and/or with clients and/or others located in other time zones outside Foundation business hours.
- Work may require weekends and/or extended workday.
- Punctuality and satisfactory attendance are essential functions of the job.
