The Legal Clinic (TLC), a Honolulu, Hawaiʻi-based nonprofit organization, is seeking candidates for a full-time development and events director position. TLC’s mission is to ensure justice for low-income immigrants and migrants in Hawaiʻi, through high-quality immigration legal services, education, and advocacy. TLC was incorporated as an independent, secular 501(c)3 nonprofit in 2019, and is the Hawaiʻi affiliate of the national Immigration Law and Justice Network. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
The development & events director will help lead and support the continued growth of TLC through fundraising events and donor management efforts. The primary focus of this position will be to plan and coordinate fundraising and volunteer recognition events, solicit corporate sponsors, manage donor acknowledgments, and develop other communication tools and methods for donor engagement. A considerable amount of time is dedicated to planning for and implementing—with a volunteer planning committee—an annual spring benefit event “Stand Up for Immigrant Justice Pau Hana” in downtown Honolulu, which honors regional “Guardians of Immigrant Justice”. The person in this position will also support TLC’s executive director (ED) and board in their efforts to cultivate new individual donors and to develop personal relationships with a portfolio of existing supporters that result in renewed or increased support to the organization.
The development & events director works closely with the ED and the board development committee to identify and implement an integrated strategy across fund development, communications, and volunteer engagement to ensure the organization has the resources it needs to fulfill its mission and grow to serve more clients. The person in this role also works to increase public awareness of the organization and of immigrant justice matters, telling the story of the organization and the clients we serve through e-communications, social media, an annual report, and other written materials. The development & events director reports to the ED and also works closely with a TLC engagement coordinator on donor data management, event planning, and communications efforts. TLC currently uses Bloomerang as its donor database (CRM). The development & events director, in conjunction with others, will fulfill the following duties:

Support TLC Leadership’s Donor Cultivation and Development Planning Efforts – 15%

Salary range is $65,000-$90,000 (full-time, annual), depending on experience and qualifications.
