Description

The Mountain Association is looking for an Energy Program Assistant to provide a variety of administrative and logistical supports for its Energy Team. This position is critical to our work that helps businesses, nonprofits, faith groups, local governments, and residents in Eastern Kentucky find much-needed energy savings. This is a hybrid position that can work primarily from home or from a Mountain Association office, with occasional required travel within Eastern Kentucky.

 

Pay Range - $42,567.69 - $47,297.43 - $55,338


1. Act as main point of contact for client engagement

50%

  • Serve as primary contact for new Energy Program clients, maintaining client communication and engagement through energy assessment process. This will require initiating phone calls on a daily basis. 
  • Ensure post-assessment client follow-up to support potential energy upgrades.  
  • Gather information on energy upgrades for internal and external reporting. 
  • Provide information regarding program policies and activities to clients and partners. 
  • Compose correspondence and other program materials.  
  • Compile and distribute information relative to program activities for partners, media, and funders. 

2. Provide administrative support

40%

  • Coordinate logistical arrangements for program activities such as energy audits and site visits. 
  • Copy, edit and format client assessment reports. 
  • Prepare narrative and/or statistical reports regarding program operations and evaluation. 
  • Perform complex tasks using spreadsheet and data base files. 
  • Provide support for grants administrative operations including preparation and processing of MOU’s, contracts and reports. 
  • Prepare and track client invoices 
  • Collect all necessary information for USDA Rural Energy for American Program (REAP) and other grant packaging for clients.  

3. Other/General

10%

  • Represent the Energy Programs at various events and professional conferences. 
  • Engages with and participates in the Mountain Association’s journey to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion both in our workplace and our work.
  • Participates in Mountain Association programs and training programs as required.
  • Performs all other duties, as assigned.
  • Practices safety in all aspects of the job.
  • Participates in the strategic planning process and implementing the plan as it relates to this role.

Tools and Equipment 

Proficient in basic computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet usage (e-mail). Capable of learning company database programs, energy assessment tools, and energy-related software programs. 

 

Physical Demands 

  • Must be able to work proficiently with computers and other office equipment. 
  • Work is primarily in an office environment (at home or a Mountain Association office) with office equipment, sitting or standing for long periods of time. 
  • Occasional travel in the service region will be required. 
  • Some work will be on site and may require walking, bending, stooping, crawling, and climbing stairs/ladders.

 Qualifications

Required Experience, Education and Certifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR experience can substitute for education. 
  • One year of related experience is required.  
  • Must be willing to obtain work-related training certifications.
