Position Summary

The Senior Director of Finance (Director of Grants) possesses full knowledge of accounting principles and the full accounting process from end to end.  Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Director of Finance plays an important role in building and maintaining an outstanding financial team to support the Company's continued financial growth and stability.  We seek a highly motivated and experienced Senior Director of Finance to lead our HeartShare St. Vincent’s Services (HSVS) division’s financial strategy, planning, and management to ensure the organization's financial sustainability and growth.

Supervises (title[s]): Chief Accountant, Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, and Billing Supervisor (13)

 

 

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position

  • Establish a solid financial foundation with systems and processes to enable long-term scale.
  • Analyze business risks and opportunities and make strategic recommendations that positively impact financial results.
  • Build world-class practices around revenue maximization, budget development, and adherence to various funding and regulatory requirements, including an operational foundation to support significant growth.
  • Coordinate with Fiscal department staff regarding allocations impacting revenue and expenses for HSVS programs.
  • Oversee preparation and submission of annual NYS CFR and NYS SSOP reports.
  • Analyze and enhance financial reporting to provide timely information to key stakeholders.
  • Manage, develop, and mentor a team of talented individuals focusing on grant administration.
  • May prepare interim and year-end reports, journal entries, and cost analysis reports.
  • Coordinate and prepare for organizational year-end and funder financial audits.
  • Serve on agency committees.
  • Other tasks as assigned to meet agency goals and adhere to deadlines.
