A Place Called Home is a dynamic, non-profit youth and community center in South Central Los Angeles. APCH provides educational programs, counseling, mentoring, music, dance and art classes, fitness and health and wellness opportunities. As youth participate in our programs, they discover interests and talents and develop a better sense of themselves and their place in the world around them. Our goal is to increase the likelihood that youth will stay in school, pursue higher education, attain viable jobs, and become active community members capable of making positive change in the world in which they live.
SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Programs, the Associate Director of Programs takes charge of cultivating innovative, individualized services and programming for teen and young adult members at this critical stage of development. In collaboration with the TYAS staff and APCH Programs, they will coordinate the network of services and support to ensure all teen and young adult members transition into adulthood with clear goals and a set post-secondary pathway. The AD will have complete budgetary oversight and will be the direct line of communication between senior management and program staff. The AD will be responsible for managing staffing needs and performance evaluations. The AD is an energetic organizer, competent administrator, and creative program planner committed to inspiring our population’s capacity towards self-reliance, positive, non-prejudicial and nonviolent interaction with peers, teachers, and adults, and to make a positive difference at APCH, in their communities and in the world.
