Description

The Good Neighbors Program Manager position is a 5-day a week (32 hour) position that oversees activities taking place in the kitchen and pantry. The Program Manager will work closely with the Executive Director (ED), under their leadership, to ensure our mission is being upheld and services are being provided in a respectful and efficient way. This position will be in direct communication with the volunteers working with the organization, the clients who receive our services and the Executive Director.

Program Oversight:

· On-Site during operating hours daily.

· Provide guidance to volunteers working within the programs.

· Work with Executive Director to train willing volunteers to create team leaders and also help establish and carry out a volunteer training program.

· Oversight/Management of client relations, including problem-solving, de-escalation, and decision making.

· Ensure food safety standards are upheld both in the kitchen and the pantry.

· Fill in if short on volunteers when necessary.

· Supervise and assist Program Support Staff to maintain the cleanliness of the facility.

· Supervise temporary volunteers who require additional guidance when completing tasks.

· Responsible to create and implement inventory and supply tracking system.

· Works with Executive Director to manage and oversee activities in dining room and pantry, ensuring a calm, inviting and dignified environment for all.

Kitchen:

· Create weekly menus based around donated items-being resourceful and minimizing weekly spending to use what we have while we have it. There is room for creative freedom here while listening to and responding to the clients we are cooking for, the volunteers making the meals, and the budget available.

· Track all meal distribution data accurately.

· Shop for all supplemental ingredients each week based on budget provided by Executive Director.

· Be present in kitchen during peak service time and enforce program rules that ensure we are working within our capacity. This includes time management of delivery and to-go meals.

· Create a Community kitchen cookbook over the first 18 months that highlight best recipes over the years.

Pantry:

· Oversee weekly shipment on Tuesdays

· Oversee weekly produce delivery on Fridays

· Oversee/provide volunteer guidance for the weekly pantry operation on Wednesdays.

· Provide support to pantry volunteer leaders (including satellite location) when necessary, which may require occasional evening or Saturday shifts (if possible).

Administrative Management

· Work in collaboration with the Executive Director for volunteer management and scheduling.

· Assist with volunteer recruitment, including outreach to individuals who have expressed interest in volunteering at Good Neighbors.

· Assist with administrative and fundraising tasks such as donor database management, mailings and additional administrative tasks.

· Assist the ED in carrying out Marketing and Communications strategy plan.

· Complete seasonal projects based on the needs of the organization (annual fundraiser, volunteer appreciation events, etc.).

· Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· 2+ years non-profit program management experience.

· 2+ years social service management experience.

· B.A. degree in applicable field preferred but not required.

· High-level management and leadership skills- this includes an understanding of volunteer management and working with a team of volunteers. Previous experience working with volunteers preferred.

· Comfortability working in a kitchen and meal planning.

· Must be able to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis.

· A willingness to pivot the program to best serve the needs of the community-flexible to change.

· Ability to schedule and manage tasks effectively, to remain organized while multitasking.

· Strong customer service skills as this position provides a direct service to clients.

· Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.

· Strong communication skills.

· Good teamwork and motivational skills.

· Must be Serve Safe and First Aid certified within 60 days of start date (Good Neighbors will cover cost).
