Description

We are a small community center in downtown Dover, dedicated to serving the needs of neighborhood children. We need a professional educator or professional youth worker to manage to manage our after-school program of learning and recreation. The position requires a highly responsible and organized person to work 25 hours per week for the 2024-2025 school year, beginning immediately. The wage is $15-18 per hour (with no benefits), depending on skills and experience.

Duties include:

  • Developing new ideas for fun and learning.
  • Forming nurturing relationships with children
  • Academic skills assessments
  • Organizing volunteer tutors
  • Planning recreation, games, crafts
  • Administering the program

Skills needed are:

  • Experience with teaching and tutoring
  • Self-directed and self-starting with limited supervision
  • Organization and administration
  • Personality that makes children feel comfortable

The hours are 3-7 Monday through Friday. We value diversity in terms of class, race, ethnicity, gender identity, nationality, religion, age, and sexuality. Remote work is not possible.
