The purpose of the Wolinsky Fellowship is to enable law school graduates with disabilities to begin a career in public interest law through a 2-year fellowship. This position opening is in DRA’s Berkeley, CA, New York, NY or Chicago, IL office.
DRA advances equal rights and opportunities for people with a wide range of disabilities through high-impact litigation utilizing federal, state, and local disability law. With offices in New York City, Chicago, and Berkeley, DRA fights for equal access and dramatic improvements for people with disabilities in all areas of life, including: technology, health care, employment, transportation, education, voting, juvenile justice, and housing. With a high success rate for more than 30 years, DRA continues to take on significant and novel cases to achieve a meaningful impact for people with disabilities across the nation. The Wolinsky Fellowship is funded through the support of numerous generous DRA donors and named in honor of DRA’s visionary co-founder Sid Wolinsky.
DRA has an established commitment to mentoring and training lawyers to practice public interest law. We have sponsored more than 40 fellowships since our inception in 1993, including the Wolinsky Fellowship, Skadden, Equal Justice Works, Justice Catalyst, and other fellowships supported by generous DRA donors. Fellows at DRA gain unparalleled experience and are provided immediate opportunity to participate in all aspects of public interest litigation. Past DRA fellows have gone on to successful careers, most in public interest law. Fellowship Attorneys are full-time positions and report to DRA’s Supervising Attorney.
DRA offers a competitive salary of $87,550-92,700/year, based on years of legal experience. This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by IFPTE Local 20.
