GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of, and reporting to, the Director of Operations, the Activities Assistant provides daily support to the activities, health and wellness, and dining services departments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Activities Assistant must be detail-oriented, well-groomed, act professionally, and embody the characteristics necessary to drive the mission.
1. Works collaboratively with the Community Wellness Coordinator to provide age-appropriate group exercise instruction and evidence-based health & wellness programs on assigned campus.
2. Supports the Campus Activities Coordinator by setting-up/cleaning-up rooms before and after planned activities, assisting with decorating for seasonal and other special events, and helping during large group activities.
3. Supports the Campus Activities Coordinator by leading small group activities such as Bingo, Crafts, Pokeno, etc.
4. Working collaboratively with the Campus Activities Coordinator, receives and coordinates daily lunch, program, trip, and/or transportation reservations for assigned campus; ensures the accurate and timely completion of reservations; and communicates the same accordingly.
5. Provides coverage during the absence of the Campus Activities Coordinators.
6. Supports dining room and drive-through operations.
7. Ensures the accurate collection and maintenance of all pertinent client information and supports the maintenance of HIIPA compliance for the organization.
8. Supports front desk operations by answering, screening, and directing phone calls, greeting guests, completing intake forms, and conducting tours for new guests.
9. Ensures accurate attendance records by assisting guests with check-in/check-out using the Copilot database.
10. If requested, temporarily assume the duties of absent staff.
11. Other duties as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While the work of this position is largely indoors, travel throughout the county does happen. When indoors, the work environment is protected from weather conditions but subject to some temperature fluctuations. Periodically during the year, the position is involved in outdoor activities and subject to temperatures below 60 degrees F and above 80 degrees F. Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind are possible. On occasion, the environment may be noisy and distracting.

· Communicating with others to exchange information, instructions, and ideas by means of spoken words, typed or handwritten notes, forms and other work materials, use of a computer, laptop, or other electronic device.
· Excellent hearing and vision for emergency situations.
· Office work that primarily involves sitting and standing for sustained periods of time.
· Ability to lift, adjust, push, pull, carry, slide, and move objects weighing 40+ pounds repeatedly and frequently in all directions.
· Ability to bend, stretch, twist, squat, and reach in all directions for extended periods of time, up to 4-hours per day.
· Other movements required from time to time may include, but are not limited to, stooping, kneeling, stepping, crouching, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, and repetitive motions hands, fingers, and wrists.
Certifications and Training:
1. Maintain certification from a nationally recognized group exercise instructor program.
2. Maintain current adult CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
3. Maintain SAGE Care certification.
