Description

Philadelphia Financial Scholars (“PFS”) seeks a professional nonprofit program coordinator to join its growing team.  The Program Coordinator will offer program support and coordination for an organization that brings financial empowerment education to high school students throughout Philadelphia.

The Program Coordinator will work with the Executive Director and Program Director to ensure organized and effective implementation of the PFS program including processes that support in-school learning, enrichment programming, and adult-focused financial workshops for parents in school communities.

The Program Coordinator will manage systems for communication and service of key stakeholders (i.e., principals, teachers, students, donors, volunteers, etc.). The Program Coordinator will also facilitate event planning for culminating student-centered showcases. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Executive Director and Program Director on strategic priorities to fulfill the organization's mission and operational goals
  • Coordinate projects and workflows to meet the PFS mission, including: documentation related to school and corporate partnerships; scheduling visits and meetings with participating schools; planning events that mobilize volunteers and showcase student work; ensuring top-notch communication with principals, teachers, donors, and other stakeholders; maintaining donor and billing records compliant with financial standards.
  • Maintain and streamline systems for document organization and tracking administrative assignments.
  • Track and maintain detailed, well-organized records assuring goals and objectives are met.
  • Partner with PFS team to develop event invitations and other marketing materials to encourage community participation.
  • Amplify mission and outcomes of organization by creating social media posts and promotional materials
  • Elevate feedback and concerns to troubleshoot and refine systems as needed
  • Request feedback and administer surveys from program participants regarding the effectiveness of the program
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Experience managing administrative functions (i.e., scheduling, correspondence, project management for events and programs) for a nonprofit or corporate enterprise.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Manage deadlines, documentation, and other critical elements to make sure PFS projects are completed on schedule.
  • Experience maintaining organized and detailed records with a commitment to keeping data stored in a way that is accessible and easily understood.
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and entrepreneurially; enjoys creating and implementing new projects and initiatives.
  • Proven track record of successful event planning.
  • Excellent oral, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including OneNote and Outlook) in a Windows environment and working knowledge of Google Drive file sharing and documents.
  • Ability to design social media posts and other promotional materials in Canva.
  • Flexibility to work in the field at our school partners’ campuses (Driver’s license and access to a car are a must).
  • 3-5+ years of professional experience.
