For four decades, the Inter-American Dialogue has worked to shape policy debate, devise solutions, and enhance cooperation within the Western Hemisphere. Our most valued asset is our select membership of over 100 distinguished citizens from the United States, Canada, and 23 countries of Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe. Members actively participate in our work, informing and advancing our vigorous debate. Eighteen Dialogue members served as presidents of their countries, over three dozen have held cabinet-level posts, and twenty-five have served in national legislatures. Our members also come from the business, finance, media, civil society, and academic sectors.
The Dialogue sets itself apart by the reach of its influence, the quality of analysis, and our unique identity as a truly hemispheric organization. Based in Washington, DC, we conduct work throughout the Americas in partnership with leading institutions in areas of crucial importance, such as education, the rule of law, energy and climate change, migration, and the region’s relationship with the rest of the world, particularly Asia.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Inter-American Dialogue is looking for a Reporter for the Latin America Advisor to assist in the editorial production and dissemination of the Dialogue’s daily publication, as well as the weekly Energy Advisor and biweekly Financial Services Advisor. The Latin America Advisor is the Inter-American Dialogue’s daily flagship publication. Focusing on the Western Hemisphere’s most pressing economic, political and business issues, the publications are targeted to informed CEOs and leaders invested in Latin America’s future. Many of the world’s most respected and fastest-growing companies subscribe, including Apple, BMW, BlackRock, Mitsubishi and Oracle, as well as leading universities such as Dartmouth, Harvard, Notre Dame, and UC Berkeley, and government agencies spanning four continents.
Successful candidates will have the ability to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision, be reliable and highly organized, as well as have superior attention to detail and the ability to produce quality work while meeting deadlines. Other requirements include a bachelor’s degree, experience writing, copyediting and proofreading, and adeptness at Internet research, using email, social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, Blogs) and Microsoft and Adobe products.

Compensation: Salary US$44,000-48,000 commensurate with experience. Competitive benefits package.
