Web Administrator 

San Francisco, CA or Washington DC

  

The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) is seeking a full-time Web Administrator, preferably based out of our San Francisco office or Washington DC office. This is an exempt position that reports to the Media Manager. It is a hands-on, fast-paced role that will support and contribute to the growth of all aspects of the ILRC’s main website and ecommerce online store. The ILRC currently has a hybrid work model requiring two in-office days per week.   

 

The ILRC is a national nonprofit legal support center headquartered in San Francisco with staff in Washington, D.C., Austin, Houston, Laredo, and San Antonio, TX, Southern California, and the San Joaquin Valley of California. The mission of the ILRC is to work with, educate, and enhance the capacity of immigrants, community organizations, and the legal sector, in order to build a democratic society that values diversity, dignity, and the rights of all people. Founded in 1979, the ILRC is regarded as one of the foremost experts on engaging immigrants and developing their leadership in the democratic process, providing expertise on complex issues of immigration law, procedure and policy, and engaging in advocacy and educational initiatives on policies that affect immigrants. We are a team-based organization that makes most of its decisions in a collaborative fashion that allows for significant staff input.   

 

This role will play an integral part in improving and maintaining our web presence by managing our website and servers, which host organizational content and programs, as well as a full-fledged online retail for our publications. This position is designed for a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and can also work independently. The ideal candidate will help establish areas of priority with the Digital Strategy team to continue growing the organization’s digital blueprint. The ideal candidate will work to implement updates to the site as it pertains to user research and internal stakeholder input, as well as manage general day-to-day updates to resource, press, and general pages on the ILRC website. This position will play an essential part in implementing the ILRC’s communications strategy, which elevates and advances the ILRC’s mission. 

Primary Goals:  

The goals of the position and the ILRC’s communications strategy are to: 

  • Manage projects that relate to long-term website improvement that leverages the ILRC’s programs and expertise, which advocate for policies that improve the lives of immigrants and enhance best practices in the field of immigration and criminal law. 
  • Ensure site functionality by maintaining the organization’s website user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) from Drupal-based tools, widgets, iframes, and beyond. 
  • Develop and execute internal processes and infrastructure that amplify the ILRC’s major projects, programs, and areas of expertise through our website. 
  • Manage requests from staff to troubleshoot any issues with any pages related to the ILRC’s domain. 
  • Manage the ILRC’s online store. 
  • Manage the ILRC’s intranet. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Will own website management by uploading new resources, press statements, staff updates, and creating new pages as needed and in a timely manner. 
  • Identify opportunities for website improvement using Search Engine Optimization (SEO) metrics. 
  • Attend organizational meetings and events to identify website support and improvement as needed. 
  • Maintain the ILRC’s store. 
  • ·      Other responsibilities as needed: 
  • Support internal teams with helpful web-integrations. 
  • Help with New Americans Campaign (NAC) website projects as needed (the NAC is a project of the ILRC).  

Job Experience & Qualifications: 

  • Possess knowledge equivalent to 4-year degree in computer science, font and web design, or communications, or a field closely related to web development preferred.  Or have obtained a degree from a college or university.  
  • Light backend Web development 
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Web Administrator or Web Developer in a professional office environment; nonprofit, advocacy, or agency experience a plus. 
  • A clear understanding of Drupal 9 and experience migrating to latest interface. 
  • Strong technical background is highly valued. Your ultimate goal is to guarantee the seamless functionality and efficiency of the web infrastructure. 
  • Proficient in HTML/CSS, XML; knowledge of SQL and Javascript is preferred. 
  • Familiarity with Drupal Commerce Shopify would be a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining a firm grasp on individual project details and deadlines. 
  • Experience managing a website, especially on Drupal software. 
  • Experience in communicating complex tech issues to staff and partners as necessary. 
  • Strong, detail-oriented organizational skills are required, as well as the ability to follow projects through to completion. 

 

Compensation/Benefits: 

Pay is commensurate with experience, with an expected range between $87,300 - $98,000 annually.  The ILRC offers excellent benefits, medical/dental/vision insurance, EAP sessions, a flexible spending account for medical and dependent care, vacation, and sick leave. The ILRC also sponsors a retirement plan option upon fulfillment of eligibility. Additionally, we offer an annual professional development stipend of $2,500 and from 2024 – 2027, an annual wellness stipend of $2,500.
