PROGRAM MANAGER

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS 

 

The Program Manager will work with GFW senior staff to execute the organization’s international programmatic operations, research, and communications. The incumbent will be expected to manage GFW's program implementation, and monitoring and evaluation from an HQ perspective, liaising with GFW’s in-country staff/partners. They will also be expected to draft research reports, concept notes, and blogs, and even assist with drafting and negotiating a UN resolution in 2025.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Implement program initiatives:........................................65%

·      Work with the Executive Director in all stages of project implementation and advancement across the 6+ countries currently active.

·      Supervise and guide the work of the Program Associate

·      Supervise and guide the work of the Country Directors

·      Work with the Development team to support grant application writing.

·      Work with the Global Operations and Compliance Manager to implement and review operational policies and procedures.

·      Monitor internal action items and activities for the Executive Director.

·      Draft written materials including correspondence, reports, memos, proposals, grant reports, blog posts, social media posts, pitch decks, documents for the Board, etc. and manage the editing process.

·      Coordinate various organizational projects (e.g. website design, developing a network of consultants to support grantees).

·      Support the execution of grant agreements and contracts

·      Draft and monitor program budgets

·      Attend working group and external meetings on behalf of the organization.


 Advocacy, meetings, and events:...................................... 20%

·      Identify key stakeholders and organize meetings with them.

·      Participate in drafting policy proposals for national and international entities.

·      Participate in the development, scheduling, confirmation, and implementation of calls and meetings with both internal and external allies, including grantees, governmental officials, funding partners, principal representatives of allied organizations, etc.

·      Manage meeting preparation process: develop talking points and conduct meeting prep for the Executive Director, coordinate presentations, and arrange prep calls for speakers. Similarly, manage follow-up processes: summarize notes for external distribution, monitor action items, and write thank-you notes.


Annual Fundraising Event Support ………….………………..10%

·      Create external communications outputs and social media content, including managing distribution lists.

·      Manage annual gala planning including managing technology and platform support, invitations, vendors, gala materials.

·      Manage gala with event planner including checking of guests, managing run of show, troubleshooting, checkout, and closeout of live event.


General Administrative Duties:............................................ 5%

·      Manage team calendar.

·      Think proactively about travel opportunities, suggest possible meetings, reaching out to allies to identify new points of contact.

·      Perform general administrative functions to support the Executive Director.

·      Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

·      At least 3-5 years of work experience in international development, philanthropy, program development, and/or monitoring and evaluation.

·      Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, Master’s degree is an advantage.

·      Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a collaborative fashion, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing competing goals and deadlines.

·      Demonstrated ability to project manage from start to finish, including tracking action items, liaising with key stakeholders, ensuring financial and legal due diligence, and securing proper approval.

·      Ability to travel internationally to conduct project onsite diligence.

·      Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

·      Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

·       Excellent research and writing skills

·      Must be flexible, resourceful, and exhibit good judgment.

·      Fluency in a second language, especially Arabic, French, or Swahili, is an asset.

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office, donor management software (e.g. Donor Perfect, Salesforce and/or Kindful), and ability to learn other applications if needed. Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Indesign, and video editing software, is an asset.

·      Eligibility to travel to the United States.

 

While the position is fully remote, the incumbent is expected to be available or overlap with Eastern Time (Ex: New York, Washington, DC)
